RANCHASSIST™ ROTATIONAL GRAZING PLANNER
TERMS OF SERVICE
Effective date: August 30, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the RanchAssist™ Rotational Grazing Planner (the "Planner") and the Planner's related website pages and outputs.
By accessing or using the Planner, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Planner.
1. THE PLANNER
The Rotational Grazing Planner is a temporary map-based planning utility.
It is designed to help users:
- Map or define paddocks
- Enter forage assumptions
- Enter herd-demand assumptions
- Arrange a rotational grazing sequence
- Estimate available forage under user-entered assumptions
- Estimate graze days
- Calculate a temporary cycle length
- Project rest intervals
- Generate projected entry and exit dates
- Compare projected rest with user-entered recovery targets
- Save editable RanchAssist .ra project files
- Export or share planning results
2. PLANNING TOOL ONLY
The Planner is a planning aid.
It does not provide a guarantee, certification, prescription, or professional determination regarding:
- Forage biomass
- Forage quality
- Pasture recovery
- Stocking suitability
- Carrying capacity
- Animal performance
- Animal health
- Water adequacy
- Nutritional adequacy
- Soil condition
- Weather
- Legal land boundaries
- Survey measurements
- Environmental compliance
- Agricultural compliance
- Veterinary compliance
- Engineering compliance
- Financial results
- Regulatory compliance
3. USER-ENTERED ASSUMPTIONS
Planner results depend heavily on information and assumptions supplied by the user.
Examples may include:
- Paddock acreage
- Forage dry matter per acre
- Utilization percentage
- Residual or reserve percentage
- Recovery target
- Paddock availability
- Head count
- Livestock class
- Average weight
- Dry-matter intake percentage
- Rotation sequence
- Graze-day target
- Start date
- Scenario adjustments
You are responsible for determining whether those inputs are appropriate for your operation and current conditions.
4. NO REMOTE FORAGE MEASUREMENT
Unless a future version expressly states otherwise, the Planner does not independently measure forage biomass in the field.
A map, satellite basemap, or paddock polygon does not mean the Planner knows the actual quantity, quality, maturity, species composition, or availability of forage.
5. NO REGROWTH FORECAST
Recovery targets and projected rest intervals are scheduling inputs and calculated comparisons.
They are not forecasts of actual plant regrowth or pasture readiness.
6. FIELD CONDITIONS CONTROL
Actual grazing decisions can depend on factors outside the Planner, including:
- Weather
- Soil moisture
- Plant species
- Plant maturity
- Previous grazing pressure
- Livestock class
- Livestock condition
- Feed availability
- Water access
- Terrain
- Fencing
- Animal behavior
- Management objectives
- Local rules or restrictions
You should inspect field conditions and use independent judgment before acting on a schedule.
7. MAPS AND MEASUREMENTS
Mapped paddock geometry and calculated area are for planning purposes.
The Planner is not a professional surveying tool.
Do not rely on mapped boundaries or area calculations for:
- Legal boundary determinations
- Deeds
- Easements
- Property disputes
- Survey certification
- Regulatory filings requiring certified measurements
8. NO PROFESSIONAL ADVICE
The Planner does not provide:
- Veterinary advice
- Agronomic advice
- Legal advice
- Tax advice
- Financial advice
- Engineering advice
- Surveying services
- Environmental consulting
- Regulatory certification
When professional advice is needed, consult an appropriately qualified professional who can evaluate your specific circumstances.
9. PROJECT FILES
The Planner may allow you to save an editable RanchAssist .ra Project File.
The .ra file is a user-controlled local file.
You are responsible for:
- Saving the file
- Protecting the file
- Backing up the file
- Determining where the file is stored
- Deciding whether the file is shared
- Confirming that a file opens correctly before relying on it as your only copy
RanchAssist does not guarantee that every future version of a tool will indefinitely support every historical project-file version, although compatible migration may be supported when practical.
10. SESSION STORAGE
The Planner may use browser session storage to protect active work during the current session.
Session recovery is a convenience feature, not permanent storage.
Do not rely on session storage as your only copy of important project work.
11. EXPORTS
The Planner may provide:
- PDF or print reports
- CSV schedules
- PNG map images
- GeoJSON
- Copy Summary
- Email summaries
Exports may simplify, omit, round, or format information differently from the complete editable project state.
A report or interoperability export is not necessarily sufficient to reopen and continue editing the original project.
12. EMAIL SHARING
If you use an email-sharing feature, you are responsible for:
- Entering the correct recipient
- Reviewing the information being shared
- Confirming you have authority to share the information
- Protecting sensitive ranch or livestock information
RanchAssist is not responsible for information sent to an incorrect recipient because of an address entered by the user.
13. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
The Planner may use or depend on third-party services, such as:
- Mapbox
- Google Apps Script
- Google MailApp or related Google services
- Browser geolocation
- Browser file and printing capabilities
Third-party services may be unavailable, changed, limited, or governed by their own terms.
RanchAssist does not control every third-party service and cannot guarantee uninterrupted third-party availability.
14. MAP SERVICE CONFIGURATION
The Planner's map service is configured by the application owner or deployment administrator.
End users should not be required to provide developer credentials for normal Planner use.
If the map service is unavailable, the Planner may offer a reduced workflow such as manual acreage entry.
15. ACCEPTABLE USE
You agree not to:
- Attempt to obtain or expose private application credentials
- Circumvent security controls
- Introduce malicious code
- Upload executable code disguised as a project file
- Use the Planner to attack, disrupt, or probe related systems
- Misrepresent Planner estimates as certified professional determinations
- Use the Planner in violation of applicable law
16. PROJECT-FILE SECURITY
RanchAssist .ra project files are data files, not executable software.
You must not intentionally modify a .ra file to inject malicious executable content or use a project import pathway to attempt code execution.
17. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
RanchAssist™, the RanchAssist name, branding, product design, website content, tool interfaces, and associated software are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
These Terms do not transfer ownership of RanchAssist intellectual property to you.
Your ownership rights in information you enter remain subject to applicable law and any rights of other parties.
18. FEEDBACK
If you voluntarily provide product feedback, suggestions, or ideas, RanchAssist may use that feedback to improve its products without an obligation to compensate you, unless separately agreed in writing.
19. AVAILABILITY AND CHANGES
RanchAssist may:
- Modify the Planner
- Add or remove features
- Change third-party providers
- Update calculations
- Improve project-file schemas
- Change export formats
- Suspend or discontinue a version of the Planner
Material changes may require updated documentation or terms.
20. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE PLANNER IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE."
RANCHASSIST DOES NOT WARRANT THAT:
- THE PLANNER WILL BE ERROR-FREE
- THE PLANNER WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED
- MAP DATA WILL ALWAYS BE AVAILABLE
- CALCULATIONS WILL MATCH ACTUAL FIELD CONDITIONS
- A PROJECT FILE WILL NEVER BE CORRUPTED
- AN EXPORT WILL SATISFY A PARTICULAR RECORDKEEPING REQUIREMENT
- A PROJECTED GRAZING OR RECOVERY RESULT WILL OCCUR IN PRACTICE
21. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RANCHASSIST AND ITS OWNERS, OPERATORS, CONTRIBUTORS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO USE OF THE PLANNER.
THIS INCLUDES, WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOSSES RELATED TO:
- LIVESTOCK
- FORAGE
- PASTURE CONDITION
- CROP OR LAND CONDITION
- WATER
- FENCING
- LOST DATA
- LOST PROJECT FILES
- BUSINESS INTERRUPTION
- LOST REVENUE
- DECISIONS MADE FROM PLANNER OUTPUTS
Any limitation that cannot legally apply in a particular jurisdiction applies only to the maximum extent permitted there.
22. INDEMNITY
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to be responsible for claims, losses, or liabilities arising from your unlawful misuse of the Planner, your violation of these Terms, or your unauthorized sharing of another party's information.
23. GOVERNING TERMS
Additional RanchAssist website terms, purchase terms, or deployment-specific terms may also apply.
If a separate written agreement expressly governs your access to a particular RanchAssist deployment, that agreement may control to the extent of a direct conflict.
24. TERMINATION
You may stop using the Planner at any time.
RanchAssist may restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect the service, users, third parties, or applicable legal obligations.
25. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
RanchAssist may update these Terms as the Planner or its operating model changes.
The effective date should be revised when updated Terms are published.
Continued use after revised Terms become effective may constitute acceptance to the extent permitted by law.
26. CONTACT
For questions about these Terms or use of the Rotational Grazing Planner, use the Contact & Help channel provided on the RanchAssist website or the website through which you accessed the Planner.
Do not send passwords, API keys, Mapbox tokens, or other private credentials when requesting support.
27. PRACTICAL SUMMARY
The Planner helps organize a temporary grazing plan from user-entered assumptions.
You remain responsible for:
- The assumptions
- Field observation
- Management decisions
- Professional advice when needed
- Protecting project files
- Reviewing exports
- Deciding whether and how to act on the schedule
